Neutral Eye Makeup Look Tutorial

A natural looking makeup is never out of style. It can enhance your features and at the same time, make you look natural.

Steps in Applying Neutral Eye Makeup

  1. Start by using a primer on your whole face. Use a high quality primer for best results. The Urban Decay primer Potion and the Too Faced Shadow Insurance are some of the most recommended primers that you can use. Primers can make a good base for your makeup. It makes your makeup stay longer.
  2. Apply a skin - tone light eyeshadow on your eye lid. The Urban Decay’s Vice 2 palette has a perfect medium brown shade called Rewind that will suit your eyes. A dense eyeshadow brush can make the application of your eyebrows smooth. If you put in too much eyeshadow, you can blend it well after. Make sure that the eyeshadow does not touch above your crease.
  3. Next, put a brown eyeshadow above your crease. You can choose between the shimmery ones or the matte ones. Put also a darker shade of brown outside your eyes. Blend properly to achieve a natural look. If you want, you can apply first the color on your crease so that you can prevent the color of your eyelids from getting muddy.
  4. You can use a MAC 217 brush for blending. Blend your eyeshadow on your crease in a windshield wiper motion. Blend them outwards, upwards and sideways. Make sure that the color does not touch your eyelids.
  5. Next, use a transition color just below your eyebrows. You can use the peachy cream shade of Urban Decay’s Habit for your highlighter. The transition change should make the color above your crease and below your eyebrows look smoother. You should not apply it all the way to your eyebrow though. Blend them really well for great results.
  6. The MAC highlighter with a shade of vanilla can be a good color for under brow highlights. After applying it, blend it with a downward motion so that it will look natural. Using the same highlighter, apply it lightly on your whole eyelid and above your eyebrows.
  7. Next, you can put a very light shimmer of pink by Lorac Pro Palette on the inner corner of your eye with an outward motion.
  8. You can use an Urban Decay’s Smokeout with a shade of charcoal grey on the outer areas of your eyes. Don’t forget to blend thoroughly the pink and the grey colors.
  9. Next, you can put a tint of black eyeliner on your eyelids. You can have winged or a cat design for your eyeliner. If you decided on a winged design, the MAC fluidline can be a great choice for you.
  10. To finish your natural look, apply black or brown colored Maybelline Colossal mascara on your eyelashes.

Conclusion

Remember to apply a primer on your face first for longer lasting eye makeup. The key to look beautiful in a neutral eye makeup is to make it more natural. Neutral makeup should highlight your eyes and it should make them one of your best assets.
